Realigning the Joints
As a chiropractor in Moline, Dr. Carroll finds those areas that are slightly out of position called the subluxation or vertebral subluxation complex. When a joint is out of position, it can start to affect the muscles and the nerves that are in that area and lead to a complex of symptoms. “When we find those areas that are subluxated, we realign those joints,” said Dr. Carroll.
Once we realign those joints, then it should give some relief of symptoms. Depending on how long a patient’s joints have been out of alignment, their body may be used to being out of alignment. Because of that, it could take several different adjustments over a period to get the joints, to stay where they’re supposed to be.
Dr. Carroll uses the Palmer Package, which is an assortment of adjusting tools that can effectively address just about any spinal problem. The specific techniques he uses that are part of the Palmer Package include the following:
- Diversified
- Thompson
- Gonstead
- Toggle Recoil
Pain relief is one of the quickest benefits that most people get after receiving chiropractic care. “However, if a patient sticks around long enough to do corrective care, then the list of benefits will grow exponentially and help to prevent bigger disease conditions,” said Dr. Carroll.
What are the different stages of care you provide?
We offer relief care, corrective care, and maintenance care.
Everybody has the freedom to make their own decisions. If you want to make sure that your body is functioning the best that it can function, then we would certainly recommend being a chiropractic patient for life. Consider that most people go to the dentist twice a year for checkups to maintain optimal oral health. Getting regular chiropractic adjustments can keep your spine aligned and healthy so you can enjoy overall optimal health.
If you’re in pain and you just want relief and then want to be done with care, that’s your choice.
Sometimes there is some discomfort with an adjustment, but our chiropractic adjusting technique is fairly gentle and usually free of pain. For those who prefer a highly gentle adjustment, we can use an instrument.
Some insurances do.
